About

Producer / Senior Video Editor / Colorist / Motion Designer / VFX Artist

Summary
Jean-Marc Defrance is an accomplished visual storyteller with over 20 years of experience producing news, entertainment and campaigns that matter.
During his youth, he moved between Europe, Africa and Asia, following his father who was working for the world’s largest oilfield services company. After graduating from university, he started learning his craft during his military service in France, creating content for the Gendarmerie, the military branch of the French police service. He then went on to work for TF1, the major French domestic network earning his chops behind the camera and an edit bay.
In the late 90’s, he moved to the Deep South of the US, and has since been working with record labels, production companies, post houses, marketing and advertising agencies, and large corporations, helping market brands, products and ideas.
Over the years, he has worn many hats on his projects, often serving as editor, colorist and motion designer in addition to producing and directing, and has created content for artists such as the Nine Inch Nails and for brands like IBM, UPS, Reebok, Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines, just to name a few.
